Marella Explorer 2 Anchor Lost, One Anchor Brand new and Second recovered from the Sea.

Marella Explorer 2 - the brand new port side anchor in the first two photos was fitted in Portland harbour area ( the original could not be found in Teignmouth Bay ) and the other photos are the starboard side anchor which was found with the aid of a diver in Torbay and added at sea in Torbay.
The recovery ship dropped its anchor over the GPS position the Explorer 2 gave and sent a diver down to find the end of the lost anchor chain. The diver connects a wire to the end link and the recovery vessel lifts the chain and anchor up to the deck of the recovery vessel. Explorer 2 lowers what's left of the chain from her own deck and the recovery ship re connects the two ends. Then it is all let go again in to the sea and its all up to the Explorer 2 to pull it all back up. The cause of the loss of anchor was a broken chain link. These things happen .. it’s been a long hard winter.

Anchor weighs 9 tonnes.
